Similar to the above, you may also find a lone body in the middle of the road, tempting you to try looting the body yourself. Note that the merchant's body can only be stolen from, not looted as normal. If you weren't able to clear your name, they may make for the nearest town and lower your reputation - so it may be best to run them down.
If you pass more speech checks, the looter will confess to the crime, and offer a bribe to walk away.Īt this point you can either accept the bribe or not, otherwise they'll flee. If you are successful you will be "cleared" of their suspicion, and are allowed to walk away or accuse them instead. You will have the opportunity to try and pin it back on them using a variety of speech checks.
When you approach and talk to the person, they will deny that they murdered the merchant, and accuse you instead. You may come across the body of a merchant with another person looting the body.
